Course Overview

The SolidWorks Professional program is designed to take engineers from basic sketching to advanced product assembly and technical documentation. This course emphasizes Design Intent—teaching you how to build models that are robust, editable, and ready for production. You will master parametric sketching, complex part modeling, and large assembly management, while gaining exposure to specialized modules like Sheet Metal and Weldments. By the end of this course, you will be proficient in creating manufacturing-ready 2D drawings and high-fidelity 3D models that meet international engineering standards.

Technical Curriculum

  • Parametric Sketching: Mastering 2D/3D sketching and geometric relations for robust model foundations.
  • Advanced Part Modeling: Creating complex geometry using Sweeps, Lofts, and advanced patterning techniques.
  • Assembly Management: Building large-scale assemblies using standard, mechanical, and advanced mating logic.
  • Technical Documentation: Generating manufacturing drawings with BOMs, exploded views, and GD&T applications.
  • Sheet Metal & Weldments: Specialized design for industrial structures, enclosures, and custom structural members.
  • Surfacing Techniques: Introduction to hybrid modeling and organic shape creation using surface patches.
  • Configuration Management: Managing multiple part variations and design families within a single file.
  • Simulation Express: Basic structural validation for stress and displacement analysis on individual parts.
